The first day started with a welcome from the headmaster of the our school, Yakup Ates. Partners gave the flags they brought to our school headmaster and we gave our own flag to them. Students from different countries presented the school and their country. In the afternoon, we visited: the city of Sardis and the temple of Artemis; and the Kursunlu Hot Spring park.

The second day was spent at the school, where we were welcomed with a traditional dance performed by the students. There was a quick visit to the school and then the planned workshops. Between the workshops we went to lunch in the center of Salihli. After luch students presented their drone prototypes

In the evening, a cultural event took place at the hotel, where food and traditions from different partner countries were shared.

The third day all teams got up early. We set out to make some visits in Manisa. First we visited Manisa High School; after visiting Manisa, we visited Turgutlu Deneyap Workshop. We had lunch at Bahçeşehir College, after lunch we worked with DJI Tello Drone. We couldn’t fly a drone outside because of the rain.

We visited Manisa again. Vestel City (one of Turkey’s largest technology company, industrial 4.0 machine). We had lunch at the Vestel. After lunch, we returned to Salihli to work in Kodlamanisa(local software and robotics Project) workshop. We made workshops on mbot programming took place, where students were grouped with elements from different countries: workshop 1 – awareness campaign; workshops 2 – programming of sensors and actuators; workshop 3 – competition between teams. We flew the espcopter.

Last day we made several cultural visits in the Izmir region. In the morning, in Selçuk, we visited the House of the Virgin Mary (it is called that way because it is considered to be the last house where she lived) and the city of Ephesus (capital of several empires, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 and has one of the largest theaters and a large library at the time).

During lunch we had the opportunity to taste the traditional Turkish kebab.

In the afternoon, we visited the tourist village of Sirince. This village was an important source of water for the city of Ephesus, is protected for being one of the rare examples of Ottoman Christian architecture. Nowadays, the sources of income are agriculture (olive oil, wine and fruit) and tourism.
