The 3rd LTT meeting of our Erasmus+ project was initially scheduled to be organized in Romania, in October 2020. The aim of the LTT meeting was to learn 3D modeling and 3D printing. The pandemic changed our plans. In the new context we decided to start our 3D adventure on the eTwinning portal.

Our 3D journey will be organized in a different way than a traditional course:

  1. First two months, you will learn the basics of 3D modeling. We decided to use free available resources for introduction in 3D modeling. There are a lot of high-quality resources for learning 3D modeling and it make no sense to reinvent the wheel. You will decide several basic 3D designs, that you will share via this portal. You can ask for help anytime you have a problem, and most probably you will receive it from another student. If not, you can count on the teachers.
  2. Next four months, you will work in international teams. You will be challenged to design some 3D models, which will be proposed and voted by both, students, and teachers. I think that will be great to work together to design a 3D model of o town intersection, but it is up to you.

Even if we recommend you resources related to some specific 3D CAD software, you can use any 3D CAD software you want. We will use STL files for sharing the design. The 3D designs can also be shared using the dedicated websites (e.g., Thingiverse, GrabCad).
